Can a homeowner rent a porta potty for a home project?
Yes, a homeowner can rent a porta potty for a remodel, roof job, new build or backyard party. No business account is needed; pay by card. In our September 2026 calls, 6 of 10 callers were homeowners or families. Remodel rentals bill in 28-day cycles; party rentals bill as one event.
Call insight: one homeowner needed a unit for construction "at my house, so it's not a business", from tomorrow for about a month. Another was building a house and needed an above-ground holding tank for an RV until the septic was in. Both were quoted without a contractor account.

Where can the porta potty go at my house?
The best spot at a house is the driveway edge or side yard, on level concrete or firm ground, within about 25 feet of where the truck parks. Keep the door facing away from the street and neighbor windows. Do not block the garage, mailbox or sidewalk; a unit in the street may need city approval.
- Driveway or side-yard pad, level and firm.
- Truck can park on the street or drive within hose reach.
- Away from sprinkler heads, septic lids and gas meters.
- HOA neighborhood? Side yard behind the fence line is safest.
- Gate code or dog in the yard? Put it on the order.

Does my contractor or do I rent the porta potty?
Either can rent it. Many Lewisville remodel contracts make the contractor responsible for a jobsite toilet; check yours. If your contractor does not provide one, renting directly lets you pick the placement and the service day. Texas does not require a homeowner to provide one for a private remodel, but OSHA covers the contractor's crew.

Questions renters ask us
Can I just get it for a month?
Yes. A month-long rental bills as one 28-day cycle with weekly service. Keep it longer and it renews every 28 days until you call for pickup.
Will my HOA complain?
Some HOAs limit units visible from the street. Placing it in the side yard or behind the garage line usually avoids complaints. Check your HOA rules.
Can it sit on my lawn?
Yes, on firm, level grass. After heavy rain we prefer the driveway because the service truck can rut soft clay.
Do I have to be home for delivery?
No. Mark the spot and leave gate access. The driver can call ahead if you want a heads-up.
Can I get one for an overnight family event?
Yes. Overnight events are priced as an event. We drop the day before and pick up the day after.
